The Alumni Club
At the end of each school year, 25-30 students graduate in an official
ceremony from the sixth grade. They are scattered into different
segregated
large schools with completely strange surroundings after the sheltered
atmosphere of Rawdat El-Zuhur. Through the Alumni Club, those graduates
have the opportunity to meet once a month, to stay in touch with each
other
and with the school. The monthly meetings include a variety of programs
ranging from field trips, general knowledge quizzes, workshops, debates
on current issues and issues pertaining to their needs and rights as
youth
and to their responsibilities and commitment to the community.
The Outstanding Alumnus
Mazen Nofal, class of 1980 was recognized as the
outstanding alumnus on graduation day, June 7, 2003 for his dedication
and honesty as procurement officer at the school. Mazen now has a very
good post at the French Cultural
Centre with a part time job at Rawdat El-Zuhur.
Issam Arnaout, class of 1985 visited the school eighteen years after graduation. He was very impressed
with the photo exhibit, and was very happy with the changes in the
program and the facilities which were not available during his time.
That visit prompted him to make a generous contribution for the
printing of the jubilee book "A Radiant Hope" (Amal wa Noor).
